My favorite rom-com animated movie is Shrek! You have the catch the wrong thing at the wrong time, embarrassing moments, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, meet-cute with donkey and girl dragon.

Oh, Shrek is 100% a rom-com. And an excellent one at that!
Shrek 2 is also every rom-com sequel ever – meet the in-laws, question your worthiness before their disapproval, grand gesture, find out you’re meant for each other all along.

Shoutout to Sophia for saying what I was thinking – kids deserve rom-coms too! Nothing wrong with a nice wholesome G-rated rom-com, where they maybe kiss at the end, but mostly it’s about holding hands.

I just read the cutest one ever, “Bye Forever I Guess” by Jodi Meadows, which is a nerdy middle grade version of “You’ve Got Mail.” Had me smiling from ear to ear.
